David Nelson is an evangelist supported by Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Brother David and Ben Laird, another of our missionaries, serve as evangelists throughout the state of Mississippi. They have a special place in their hearts for the people in correctional facilities and nursing homes, having preached there thousands of times. Brother Nelson's ministry, No Greater Love, has seen preaching cassettes and CDs distributed by the thousands across America and to dozens of countries around the globe. It is our privilege to partner with these men as they share the love of Jesus with lost men.
MISSIONS
In addition to these regularly supported projects, Cedar Grove provides support for many missionaries that pass through Newton. Our people certainly "go the extra mile" to make sure that those have given up so much for the work of God are taken care of. Lodging and hot meals are provided, and many of them are given a chance to interact with the church folk during services. We appreciate meeting all of the traveling evangelists, church planters, and missionaries that come through Newton. It is our pleasure to always make them feel at home at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Cedar Grove Baptist Church supports missions across the street and around the world. We actively support Foreign and State missions through the Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Association. Mount Pisgah has been serving the Lord in Chile, South America for over 40 years. Since that time, fourteen Baptist churches have been started and handed over to national pastors. Representatives from sponsoring churches take missions trips to Chile each year to assist these works and to encourage the Christians there in the work of the Lord. Cedar Grove is proud to play a vital part in this growing work.
